Proposed homes

Spitfire Homes pride themselves on delivering high-quality sustainable homes and creating aspirational places to live which integrate with, and have special regard to, the character of the local surroundings and the needs of local communities.

Particular attention has been given to how the proposed development integrates to the local area. This includes the layout of  the proposed homes, but also the quality, architectural detailing and materials of the existing buildings found within the local area. Balsall Common consists of a blend of traditional and modern styles, and Spitfire’s scheme will showcase architecture that is reflective of this. The typical materials used are natural materials like stone, brick, and wood. The village's built environment includes historic farmsteads, detached pre-1880 housing, country houses, as well as more recent development.

The current frontage alongside Balsall Street that consists of mature trees will be retained to protect the existing landscape. In addition, careful consideration has been given to the layout of the scheme, with a footpath connecting the community to the existing Oakes Farm Shop. Vehicular access will also remain to the Farm shop. The needs of nearby residents have been taken into account, with careful planning to make sure there's a comfortable amount of space between the new homes and existing properties.

Examples of the proposed homes have been shared below along with an indicative street scene giving a clearer feel of how the proposed development will look.
